PAXOS
Unspoilt, tranquil, relaxing, beautiful Paxos - a tiny gem in the Ionian sea, surrounded by crystal clear turquoise waters with immense limestone cliffs on the western side and small pebble coves dotted along the east.
Once visited and rarely forgotten, Paxos has a way of getting into your soul. The three main villages of Gaios, Lakka and Loggos all have their different personalities and you will soon discover your favourite - Gaios with its bustling shops and restaurants, Lakka with its horseshoe bay of aquamarine waters dotted with sail boats or tiny pretty Loggos with a handful of tavernas on the waters edge. And not forgetting the stunning sandy beaches of AntiPaxos, a short ride away on one of the frequent water taxis.
Paxos is a place for enjoying the simple things in life, something that draws people back time and time again.
How to get here
Paxos doesn't have its own airport which helps to keep mass tourism at bay. Once you arrive at Corfu airport take a taxi to the new port for the hydrofoil, or book a ticket with Kamelia Lines which includes a coach transfer to Lefkimmi where you board the Despoina ferry.
We recommend that you book your boat tickets to Paxos in advance as they can get booked up. The journey takes between 1 and 2 hours depending on which boat you are travelling on.
For timetables and contact details:
- visit the Kamelia Lines website for the Despoina or Christa boats (bookable online)
- book the Ilida dolphin hydrofoil via a phone call or email to Bouas Travel.
There is also a car ferry which takes a leisurely 4 hour cruise across to Igoumenitsa and along the Greek mainland coast past Sivota before crossing the open sea to Paxos. If you have time, it's a great way to travel!
